I purchased these carpet treads to add to my wood stairs after one of my dogs slid into me and knocked me down the stairs landing us both in a heap. I've done my research, including the options of carpeting the entire staircase or getting those sandpaper strips to stick to the stairs. None of the home improvement stores in my area had any great options. I didn't want to cover up the beautiful wood floors and I didn't want something that looked industrial in my place. I found this great buy online and made my purchase. They were delivered to my house this morning and were a snap to install on my stairs. They look great, too. The gold rush color works great with the wood color of the oak floors. Both dogs are able to go up and down the stairs without slipping and so am I. Glad to have some peace of mind knowing the stairs are safer for everyone! Plus, I know that if I ever want to change them out, the wood floors aren't ruined underneath. Thanks!

I bought these back in January and they began coming apart a week after installation. I first thought it was just one tread so I called the company. They quickly sent me a new one but the rest started to fray soon after. I called Dean Flooring and they indicated they had not seen this before and to this date have not offered me a refund or any options for the faulty treads.
If you have light traffic these may work for you but we have 2 adults, 3 boys, and one dog (which is why I bought them) going up and down the stairs.
Their website indicates they stand behind their product but they have given me the run around for over 3 months on any workaround.

Carpet once installed does it's purpose. My kids stopped falling down the stairs and dog is more confident to go up and down as well. I had to however use extra tape and redo some pieces few times before it started to stick. Also, the quality of product is not perfect, corners are not done very well so the will start to break early (in fact some already did). It looks nice as it blends very well with stairs. For now (I had them for aprox 1 month) it works and I am satisfied that I didn't have to spend the huge money to replace the whole stairs area with carpet.
