5Super Legs
By AmazonZig
I guess I'm a little weird, but I purchased these to be used with a Halloween costume (to make me tall and lanky). I have zero experience working on stilts and I have to say that these were excellent. They were simple to construct and after I read the instructions I was soon on my stilts walking around (scaring my dogs). The first time you get up they are quite intimidating/terrifying, but I practiced in my house and was fine. I was a spook on a "haunted trail" (on flat pavement) and everything went very well. Everyone thought I was terrifying at nearly 8' tall and I didn't fall once (almost fell going down an inclined driveway but luckily didn't). I'm not sure I'd recommend them for what I did, but it was a fun experience.

I have a slim build, so I didn't have any balance issues. The stilts feel well-made and are heavy duty. I wore them for around 5 hours straight and didn't have any issues (no leg discomfort, no problems with straps, nothing). The straps are good and easy to adjust. The bottoms have rubberish/plastic feet which grip the ground well. For the price, I'd say you can't lose if this is what you are looking for.

Notes for the noobs:
1) Walk in a "U" shape to turn around, don't walk backwards
2) Lift your feet up when walking (rugs, lips in doorways, and other small obstructions will make you trip)
3) Take it SLOW
4) Watch your melon (these will make you taller than most doorways)

5Perfect for costumes/entertainment.

Well, I did a bit of searching for a good pair of stilts to use for a robot costume. Aside from building your own, (which is potentially a safety hazard) there are the best stilts you can get for the 18-30 inch range. They are INCREDIBLY stable, there is just about 0 muscle fatigue, and you can stand still in them for hours.

When walking over rough terrain you must remember to pick up your feet, and while walking up/down ramps you need to lean back (downhill) or forward precariously to shift your center of gravity so you don't fall forward/backwards. This can be a bit scary at first but its totally possible if you go slowly.

These stilts are so stable you actually don't need any help getting up on them when they are up to 30 inches tall. (no walls needed for support, no additional person to hold you steady) Once you get past 24 inches though you need to sit on a table or something while you strap them on or you wont be able to get up.

After 1 week of practice I can confidently jog (NEVER TRY TO UNLESS YOU NEED TO) or jump in these. Please note that you need to walk with a wider stance than normal, if you put your foot to close to the center of gravity, you will fall in that direction. For example, if I put my right foot directly below me and lift my left foot, I will immediately start falling to the right with no way of stopping myself. If your going to be doing alot of moving (like I am) make sure you wear knee pads. If you fall, you are supposed to fall forwards on your knees (thanks, YouTube!).

As for the bad points, I will say that the strap that goes just below the knee joint will bruise you after extended use as there is contasnt preassure from the metal buckle. If you stand with your feet extra wide, the pressure is released but the position is a bit awkward. I would suggest using a small piece of foam under the buckle.
